St. Gabriel’s St. Vincent de Paul Youth Conference Continues to Serve During Pandemic

The SVdP Youth Conference at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fayetteville continue to find ways to serve their community and live out their faith during the coronavirus epidemic.
Since the start of the spread of COVID-19 in Georgia, the Youth Conference continued to meet via Zoom and got creative with projects such as writing letters to the homebound in their community and helping with the church’s Summer Lunch Program. Finally on June 17th, they held their first in-person meeting and were excited to see each other again to share in their Vincentian journey.

The meeting was held outside and health and safety precautions were taken. St. Gabriel’s Pastor, Father Richard Vu, attended their meeting and offered his support of this group of youth.
During their in-person meeting, they voted to adopt a section of St. Gabriel’s church grounds to maintain and met at the church court yard a week later to weed and dead-head the garden area of the court yard. They plan to meet periodically and maintain the area as one of several projects that they will work on this year.
St. Vincent de Paul Georgia responds tirelessly to those in need. We are willing to serve, and we are glad for the enthusiasm of our youth to move us in new directions!
