Not all people living with housing instability are living in the streets or in a shelter, an unfortunate pattern in recent years has driven families who have been evicted into extended stay motels. The move is usually intended to be temporary until the family can arrange for another apartment or house; however, the arrangement often stretches into years as high rental costs, fees, existing debt, and other expenses keep the family from saving for a deposit on better accommodations.
