Sonji Bates-Boston

Sonji Bates-Boston joined SVdP Georgia as the Director of Human Resources in February of 2022. In this role she focuses on recruiting and retaining great staff members who have the talent and passion to support the work we do in providing hope and help to our neighbors in need.  She is responsible for recruiting, benefits administration, performance management and employee engagement.   Prior to coming on board, Sonji took some time off from paid employment to focus on her family. She previously was a Division HR Manager for Rollins, Inc, the parent company for Orkin Pest Control, where she provided Human Resources support for their national contact center and Orkin branches from Virginia to Maine.

A native of Albany, Georgia, Sonji received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Spelman College. She and her husband live in Stone Mountain with their rescue dogs Penny, Oreo and Reese. She is an active member of her church, where she has worked in the food pantry, women’s ministry and taught GED prep, resume writing and interview skills courses. In her spare time, Sonji likes to cook, watch sports or hike with her dogs.
