A New Home for Paulina’s Family
When Paulina joined the Motel to Home program, she and her six children were living in a motel room, doing their best to hold on to hope through a difficult season. After spending several years in North Carolina caring for her mother during illness, Paulina returned to Georgia following her mother’s passing, only to face new challenges of her own.
Despite her determination, finding steady employment and affordable housing proved difficult. With few options and six children to care for, the family spent months in a motel, stretching every paycheck and praying for a breakthrough. Through perseverance and faith, Paulina eventually secured employment and applied for St. Vincent de Paul Georgia’s Motel to Home program. With support from the program, she was able to move her family into a safe and stable home in Grayson.
For the first time in a long while, her children had space to grow, play, and feel secure. The family also received a Welcome Home basket filled with essentials for their new start and will be blessed through the annual Christmas gift-giving event sponsored by Gas South. Moments like these remind Paulina and her children that they are not alone and that a community of caring people is rooting for their success. Today, while the journey is still unfolding, Paulina continues to work hard to maintain stability for her children, with St. Vincent de Paul walking beside her every step of the way.
