94 Days of Homelessness

Angela
In the heat of summer, Angela faced a devastating challenge—losing her home. Amid the final stages of a divorce, her 12-year-old daughter went to stay with her father, leaving Angela to care for her two youngest children. With nowhere else to turn, she moved in with an out-of-state family member, hoping for stability. But after just nine days, it became clear the arrangement wouldn’t work. Out of options, Angela returned to Atlanta, uncertain of what to do next.
We were back to the drawing board and living in our car again,” Angela shared. “Every assistance program I called couldn’t help me or put me on a waiting list. Then, through the grace of God, I found St. Vincent de Paul.
SVdP provided two weeks of shelter at an extended stay hotel, gas money, resources, and interview clothes. With their support, Angela secured a job and found an apartment, with another agency helping cover two months’ rent until her first paychecks arrived.
“It’s hard being a single mother and starting over,” Angela said. “But I’m so grateful to have my children together under one roof. I’m thankful for everyone God placed in my path to help me.”
Thanks to supporters like you, SVdP can continue to provide life-changing assistance to families like Angela’s.
