Marillac Moms provides safe transitional housing and personalized support for pregnant mothers and their children facing homelessness.

Through a unique partnership model, St. Vincent de Paul Georgia works alongside parish/ communities to create stable homes and circles of support that help families move toward independence.

Launching the program may feel like a significant step — but parishes are not asked to do this alone.

Together, we share responsibility for supporting mothers during a critical season of need.

Why Host a Marillac Moms Home >>

Hosting a Marillac Moms home allows your parish or community to walk alongside a pregnant mother and her children during a critical season of transition.

Families are welcomed into safe, furnished apartments and supported through mentoring, coaching, and community encouragement as they work toward stable employment, financial independence, and long-term housing.

Most families participate in the program for approximately 12–15 months, providing the time needed to build routines, strengthen income, and prepare for independent living.

How Parishioners Can Help >>

Each participating parish typically forms a small leadership team of 5–8 volunteers who help coordinate support and stay connected to the mother’s progress.

Many other parishioners participate in simple but impactful ways, such as:

·         Providing household or baby items

·         Assisting with apartment setup

·         Supporting meal trains after delivery

·         Offering encouragement and prayer

·         Participating in occasional volunteer opportunities

This shared approach helps prevent burnout and allows the broader parish community to experience the joy of serving together.

Funding & Support >>

Supporting one Marillac Moms family typically involves an annual investment of approximately $40,000.

Participant contributions and donated items often offset a portion of this cost, leaving an average funding need of about $30,000 per year.

Parishes / Communities meet this need in different ways — through individual donors, parish appeals, ministry sponsorship, or community fundraising efforts.

If a parish / community has strong volunteer capacity but limited financial resources, St. Vincent de Paul Georgia may be able to help explore funding solutions.

Timeline to Welcome a Family >>

From initial conversation to welcoming a family, most parishes move through the launch process within 6–10 weeks.

St. Vincent de Paul Georgia provides guidance at every stage, helping parish teams prepare the apartment, engage volunteers, and begin ongoing support with confidence.
