Georgia Families Need Us Now
SNAP Disruptions + Layoffs = Rising Need in Georgia
Across Georgia, families who never imagined needing help suddenly do. St. Vincent de Paul Georgia is responding — with dignity, compassion, and real-time action.
Layoffs, federal furloughs, and SNAP benefit disruptions are pushing more Georgia families to the brink. Every day, St. Vincent de Paul Georgia volunteers hear from parents skipping meals, seniors choosing between rent and medication, and neighbors who never imagined needing help.
Meeting Urgent Needs with Dignity and Action
As more Georgia families struggle to keep food on the table, St. Vincent de Paul Georgia is responding quickly and compassionately. Through home visits in 76 communities, our Vincentian volunteers are providing immediate help with food, housing, and health needs — while treating every person with dignity and respect.
Expanded Food Access: Neighbors can now visit our Chamblee Client Choice Food Market twice a month instead of once a month.
Free Community Pharmacy: Neighbors receive maintenance medications at no cost across the state.
Housing Stability Support: Emergency aid for rent and other housing costs helps families prevent eviction and stay safely housed.

In the last year, St. Vincent de Paul Georgia provided:
-
- 3.1 million pounds of food
- 28,000+ free prescriptions
- 8,500 evictions prevented
- $34 million in direct support
- 300,000+ Georgians served statewide
We don’t learn about hardship from spreadsheets — we learn from kitchen tables. Dignity matters. Compassion matters. Community matters.
— Mike Mies, Executive Director, St. Vincent de Paul Georgia
