Finger Licken Chicken Wings
I thought we could start out today with just a few price comparisons I found on the internet to give you a good idea of how much you can save on your food costs. Clark Howard has done comparisons between Aldi, Walmart and Kroger and found the same results to be true. Here are three examples and as you will see, this comparison was done in 2019, and prices have gone up since then, but the comparisons are pretty accurate and indicative of prices today. I hope this helps you, also don’t forget, Publix does have buy 1 get 1 sales and they are excellent savings. Remember, last week, I mentioned that I had bought eggs at Aldi for 58 cents per dozen, on sale, and these sales go on all the time for various products.

I have another great menu for you to try and it’s so simple
Rice Pilaf or
Roasted Potato Wedges
Strawberry Spinach Salad:
1 Bag Baby Spinach (washed and dried)
½ red onion, sliced into rings (optional)
1 Container Strawberries, cut into slices, (they are 99 cents now at Aldi and in season
Your favorite cheese, in this photo I used White Cheddar
Toss all ingredients together, then top with dressing. Your
Orange Vinaigrette Dressing:
¼ cup orange juice
2 Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
1 cup olive oil or oil of your choice (Publix often has buy
1 get 1 sales on olive oil)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Whisk the orange juice and vinegar together in small bowl.
Next whisk in the Dijon mustard; then gradually whisk in the oil and continue
to whisk until it is slightly thickened. Finally, whisk in the salt and pepper.
Finger Licken Chicken Wings:
15 chicken wings
1 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 teaspoons parsley flakes
2 cups dried breadcrumbs
1 cup Parmesan cheese
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
Mix together breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic powder, and
Parmesan cheese. Dip wings into melted butter or margarine, then roll into
breadcrumb mixture. Place on shallow baking sheet, bake at 350 degrees F. for
45 minutes. Serve hot. This also can be prepared ahead of time and
refrigerated, then placed into the oven for 45 minutes before serving.
Easy Rice Pilaf:
Cook the amount of rice you need for your family, then add
in seasonings of your choice, plus about 1 cup frozen vegetables (thawed), like
peas and carrots that are cut in small pieces. Add some olive oil, regular oil
or a bit of butter or margarine. I sometimes put in a pinch of ground sage or thyme. In this picture, I put
in what I had on hand, a vegetable mixture of carrots, broccoli and cauliflower,
two teaspoon of olive oil and a pinch of thyme. Doesn’t it look tasty and
Roasted Potato Wedges
Wash potatoes, cut into quarters, lengthwise, rub with oil,
salt and pepper. Bake at 400 degrees until crispy and fork tender.
Watch and compare prices weekly using your phone, look up
Aldi, Publix, and Kroger, then after making out your weekly menu you can decide
the best place to shop for your needs and make your grocery list.
Have fun and Enjoy!!
