When: Saturday, February 25, 2023, 9:30am check in. The retreat ends at 3:00 pm. Confessions are at 3:00-3:50 pm. Saturday Vigil Mass is at 4:00 pm. Lunch and the retreat will be provided at no cost by SVdP Georgia Council. Refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Content: This is another regional retreat with the same content as the October 8, 2022, retreat formerly held at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church. The retreat will include a sample of the Serving in Hope series, time for meditation and reflection, small group discussions, role play demonstrations of spontaneous prayer, Vincentian Stations of The Cross, singing, opening and closing prayers, confessions, and attendance at the Saturday Vigil Mass (if so desired).

Schedule:

  • 9:30 – 9:50  Check in at Kenny Hall (located across from the church in the same building)
  • 10:00 – 10:10  Christ the King Cathedral Welcome, Opening Prayer, and Opening Song – The Servant Song.  (Charles Jones)
  • 10:10 – 10:15  St. Vincent de Paul-Georgia Welcome (Jennifer Maxwell)
  • 10:15 – 11:15  Serving in Hope Module #2 – Spirituality – One Sample Session. Two-minute module introduction video. Session 2.3 short video, content, and enrichment reading. (Sr. Mary Francis Power)
  • 11:15 – 11:45  Individual Reflection and Meditation on Serving in Hope module content. (Designated areas for individual meditation and reflection, including outdoors)
  • 11:45 – 12:15  Small Group Discussions on Serving in Hope content and individual reflections.
  • 12:15 – 1:00  Meal blessing, lunch, interacting with other Vincentians, or walk the grounds.
  • 1:00 – 2:00  Small Group Discussions – Praying with Clients/Neighbors (Sister Mary Francis. Praying with Clients Handout.)
  • 2:00 – 2:15  Break
  • 2:15 – 2:45  Vincentian Stations of the Cross – (Deacon Bill Boyd)
  • 2:45 – 2:55  Individual reflection and meditation on the Vincentian Stations of the Cross, and how they relate to how we interact with our clients/neighbors.
  • 2:55 – 3:00  Concluding Comments, Closing Prayer, and Closing Song (The Servant Song)  (Sr. Mary Francis Power)
  • 3:00 – 3:50  Confessions
  • 4:00  Saturday Vigil Mass
