A Clark’s Christmas Kids Kickoff to Remember!
December 5th kick-started the 29th year of Clark’s Christmas Kids at the Walmart on Ashford Dunwoody! This would be St. Vincent de Paul Georgia’s fifth year of partnership with Clark Howard, WSB, DFACS, and Walmart.
Volunteers wore their light blue Clark’s Christmas Kids t-shirts and brought their Christmas spirit as they helped with Christmas lists, shopping, and the bagging and tagging of toys for hundreds of children in Georgia’s foster care system.
The initial goal for this years inaugural event was to shop for 386 kids. Just hours into the event, the goal was surpassed and three gifts for over 600 kids each were purchased and sent off to bring Christmas joy to their hearts for the holiday!
Governor Brian Kemp even stopped by the event to broadcast live with Clark Howard on 95.5 WSB Radio. The Governor will be teaming up with Christmas Kids this year to provide gifts for 1000 children in Georgia’s foster care system.
This year, over 9,000 children are in the Clark’s Christmas Kids program and will receive three presents purchased by the generous people of Georgia. Last year, over 10,000 children were provided Christmas gifts through the program.
There are many ways that you can help make Clark’s Christmas Kids a success this year. One way is by shopping for a kid or kids at one of the ten live remotes that will be held at various Walmart’s throughout Georgia.
